Basic Policy on the Protection of Personal Information

Shinsei Trust & Banking Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred as "Shinsei Trust") considers the
protection of our customers' personal information an important mission within the management
of our business and endeavors to protect and manage such information appropriately in order to
satisfy the trust placed in us by our customers.

Compliance with laws, regulations and other rules
As stipulated in the law & regulations concerning the Protection of Personal Information
(hereinafter referred to as the "Personal Information Protection Law"), as a business entity
which handles personal information, we comply with the law, rules and regulations that concerns the protection of personal information.
Collection and use of Personal Information
Shinsei Trust acquires customers' personal information by appropriate means and we will use such personal information in an appropriate
manner within the scope of our statements as described in Statement on Purpose of Use.
Disclosing purposes of using Personal Information
In the case Shinsei Trust Bank acquires Personal Information from a third party and uses it beyond inclusive purposes disclosed or changes the purposes of use within the scope where the revised purpose has a reasonable relation to the purpose before the change, we disclose such facts as well as the purposes of use on the Shinsei Trust website in the "Purpose of use of Personal Information" page.
Supplying Personal Information to a third party
Shinsei Trust does not supply Personal Information which we have obtained, to any third parties under any circumstances unless:
• it is agreed by the individual
to whom the personal information belongs to.
• it is required by law and regulations;
• the handling of Personal Information is delegated to a third party to the extent
necessary for achieving the purpose described in Statement on Purpose of Use. In this case, we select our delegate
under strict selection standards, always concluding a delegation agreement, and carry out suitable supervision in order
to prevent the use of personal information for purposes other than that specified, including any potential unauthorized disclosure,
loss, damage or destruction.
Secure management of Personal Information
We endeavor to take appropriate measures to prevent the loss, destruction, unauthorized disclosure of and,
damage to personal information, and securely manage such information.
Response to requests concerning the handling of Personal Information
Shinsei Trust deals appropriately with respective requests from our customers
concerning the disclosure, correction and suspension of use of personal information as prescribed

Continued improvement to the Basic Policy on the Protection of Personal Information
Shinsei Trust continually reviews the Basic Policy on the Protection of Personal Information
and respective internal rules and endeavors to improve the handling of our customers' personal information.
