Basic Policy Concerning Protection of Personal Information

Shinsei Trust & Banking Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Shinsei Trust") considers the
protection of our customers' personal information an important mission within the management
of our business and endeavors to protect and manage such information appropriately in order to
satisfy the trust placed in us by our customers.

Compliance with Laws and Regulations
Shinsei Trust shall, as the information handler (kojinjoho toriatsukai jigyosha) prescribed in the Personal Information Protection Act (the "PIPA"), comply with the obligations set forth in the PIPA and the other laws and regulations concerning protection of personal information.
Collection and Use of Personal Information
Shinsei Trust shall collect our customers' personal information in an appropriate manner. Such information collected shall be used appropriately within the purpose stated in "Purpose of Use of Personal Information" below.
Disclosing purpose of Use of Personal Information
In the case Shinsei Trust acquires personal information from a third party and uses it for purposes other than those disclosed, or changes the purposes of use within the scope of the purposes and relevant conditions agreed, we disclose such facts as well as the purposes of use on the web page entitled "Use of Personal Information".
Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties
Shinsei Trust shall not provide or disclose the collected personal information to any third party, except in the following cases:
• where the consent of the customer himself/herself is obtained;
• if required under laws and ordinances;
• where handling of personal information is entrusted to an outsourcee upon execution of a service agreement to the extent required for the fulfillment of the purpose of use set forth in gPurpose of Use of Personal Informationh below; in such cases, Shinsei Trust shall establish appropriate criteria and select the outsourcee pursuant to such criteria as well as conduct adequate surveillance to prevent any use of the personal information for purposes other than those stated, or any divulgence, loss or damage thereof;
Safety Management of Personal Information
Shinsei Trust shall take the appropriate safety management measures, without limitation, for the prevention of loss, divulgence or damage of personal information.
Measures against Complaints Concerning Handling of Personal Information
Shinsei Trust appropriately handles respective complaints from customers and requests for disclosure, amendments and suspension of use of personal information as prescribed under the PIPA. Please refer to "Additional Information" for the contact information.
Practicing Continuous Improvement of "Basic Policy Concerning Protection of Personal Information"
Shinsei Trust shall continuously review the "Basic Policy Concerning Protection of Personal Information" and any related internal rules and endeavor to improve the handling of customers' personal information.
